Middle Ural Monastery in Honour of the the Icon of Our Lady «The Grower of Crops» was founded only in 2005 but for this short period it became one of the largest monasteries of the Ural region.
Middle Ural Monastery is on Serov Highway. You will go on this highway, if you want to visit the Monastery of Holy Royal Martyrs at the Ganya Pit. To reach the Middle Ural Monastery you will have to go about 10 kilometers to the north.
The monastery is in the middle of the pine wood. The place was called a German village as German prisoners were kept there during the Great Patriotic War. It was given to the Church in 2002. At the time there were only three dilapidated wooden buildings in that place.
The monastery has a social meaning for the Middle Ural region. It is a home for the children from disadvantaged families and oncology patients. The monastery has three churches – the Cathedral of the Icon of Our Lady «The Grower of Crops», the Cathedral of the Icon of Our Lady of Kazan and the Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin.
