Yekaterinburg became the first Russian city, outside of Moscow, where began the construction of high-rise buildings. However, after the famous Stalin skyscrapers, high-rise buildings haven’t been constructed for a long time even in Moscow.
In Moscow the construction of skyscrapers began only at the beginning of the 21 century. Today there are several dozens of high-rise office and apartment building in Moscow, with Vysotsky skyscraper being at the end of the top 20 skyscrapers. It should be noted that at the time of construction in 2011 it was the tallest skyscraper in Russia outside of Moscow. Its height is 188,3 meters. In 2016 another skyscraper outside of Moscow was built – Iset Tower. Its height is 209 meters and it also is located in Yekaterinburg.
Vysotsky skyscraper has 54 floors. The lower floors are occupied by offices and the upper floors – by a hotel of the same name. An open sightseeing platform located on the 52nd floor of Vysotsky skyscraper may be of immediate interest for tourists. It is open from 13 to 22.
You can visit an interesting Museum of Vladimir Vysotsky on the first floor of the skyscraper. There are things of the famous artist that belonged to him during his life. You can see here and Mercedes, which he drove. Also here you can see many things from the Soviet life, the furniture of the apartments.
From the platform you can have a panoramic view of almost all districts of Yekaterinburg and the main sights of the city. At a distance you can see Lake Shartash and Upper Isetsky Pond, and close at hand – the City Pond.
Actually, all historic center of the city is at the foot of Vysotsky skyscraper, including the City Pond, Plotinka, Lenin Avenue, Church on the Blood, Sevastyanov`s House, Opera Theatre, Big Chrysostom, etc.
