Youth Theatre, which was founded in 1964, occupied one of the most beautiful houses in Perm. This modernist building was erected in 1899 by the project of a well-known local architect Turchevich.

Alexander Lyubimov was a town governor and the largest entrepreneur in Perm. He was the owner of several salt and soda factories, as well as a steamship line on the Kama river. Lyubimov died in Yalta in 1899. His wife inherited a huge fortune.

Just after his death the widow wanted to build a mansion on Catherine Street. A local architect Turchevich was commissioned with the task to erect this mansion.
