Tidzar mud volcano is located on the shore of the Sea of Azov. For several decades, it has been one of the most popular on the Taman Peninsula. In 2018, a four-star hotel, restaurant and cafe, as well as recreation areas were built near Tidzar. You can come here for a few days and combine mud treatments with swimming in the Sea of Azov.

Tidzar mud volcano is located 700 meters north of the village of Za Rodiny and 200 meters from the Sea of Azov. Anapa is 75 km away. At this point, a low Golubitskaya Ridge stretches along the Sea of Azov and a hill in the vicinity of the village Za Rodiny is called the Blue Beam. Its height reaches 70 meters.

In 1919, there was a strong eruption of the Tidzar mud volcano; as a result the top of the Blue Beam hill was demolished by mud emissions. Now the Tidzar volcano has only one sufficiently large crater (30x30 meters) with blue mud. The consistency of the mud is not too viscous, so you can move inside it. Convenient ladders are made on all sides of the crater; therefore a lot of people can take mud treatments at the same time. Mud of the Tidzar volcano, as in other volcanoes of Taman, has medicinal properties. It contains many trace elements, including bromine, iodine, boron and others.

There are showers near the volcano where you can wash off the mud, but many people prefer to wash off the mud in the Sea of Azov. You need to walk 200 meters from the crater to it and at the end go down the stairs from the high shore. The beautiful beach on the territory of the Tidzar volcano is covered with fine sand with an admixture of shell rock. There are sun beds and umbrellas for comfortable swimming, but the Sea of Azov is quite shallow, and there can be a lot of jellyfish in the water. The beach is divided into two parts by a breakwater. On the right side, people wash off the mud in the sea, and on the left side they swim.

Entry to the territory of the Tidzar mud volcano is 1000 rubles per person. It is quite expensive compared to other mud volcanoes on the Taman Peninsula. For example, the entrance to the territory of another popular mud volcano Hephaestus is 400 rubles. Such a high cost of entry is explained by the fact that there are not only showers to wash off mud after mud treatments. Tidzar is a recreation complex where it is pleasant to spend the whole day.

The cost of staying at the Tidzar hotel is quite high, but it includes meals. There is a very high-level restaurant, as well as a foot-court with a barbecue. In the center of the recreation complex there is a small pond with swans, a playground. You can take a train ride around the territory. You should definitely visit the Tidzar Zoo, where you can see many interesting animals and birds.
