For several centuries the port of Alanya was near the Red Tower, which was also known as the lower fortress. Strong walls connected it with the so-called upper fortress. They were necessary to defend the port. Today you can see only pleasure boats in the port.
The port quay is beautifully decorated. Dozens of ships looking like pirate schooners are moored along the quay. At the start of a tour, tourists can admire the Red Tower and the shipyard from the sea, as well as the fortress walls descending from the upper fortress almost to the sea.
Then pleasure boats go around the rocky peninsula. Almost from any point you can have beautiful views of the rocky coast and the fortress on it. The Cleopatra Beach is a final stop of all boat tours.
